Welcome to Wolfwood Survival and Traditional Skills School

Traditional Skills for a Sustainable Future – Our purpose is to teach and share knowledge about survival, simple living, homesteading and emergency preparedness. Respect for nature as a whole is paramount to our philosophy.

Our primary instructors are Tarn White and Deane Williams

Tarn White is an avid outdoorsman and has always been interested in all aspects of the craft. His passion for bushcraft started in childhood in the interior of BC and then thrived in the jungles of Mexico after his family moved on to a boat for 2 years then settled in Mexico. Once back in Canada Tarn was thrilled to begin exploring more of British Columbia’s wilderness. Using his vast practical knowledge and hands on approach he aims to teach and inspire others to learn about the wilderness around them.

Deane Williams has been homesteading since childhood and continues the tradition today. Caring for our many critters over the years including goats, chickens, ducks, horses and cows. Deane has a hands on practical knowledge of animal husbandry and processing. She is an avid gardener and wild edibles forager with a focus on self sufficiency, food preparation and storage. Deane has worked in the medical field and is quite knowledgeable in regards to natural medicines and remedies. With so many years of experience and easy going nature she is a fountain of back to basics knowledge and a great teacher.

We have many other instructors available from a wide range of backgrounds with plenty of knowledge to share.
